It is noted that the total amount of aid to Ukraine barely exceeds 200 billion dollars.

US President Donald Trump, speaking about aid to Ukraine , significantly overstated the amounts. Washington actually spent less than the announced $350 billion.
The Voice of America writes that, according to an interagency monitoring group, after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the US Congress allocated about $183 billion to Kyiv.
At the same time, the Pentagon reported that it sent military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 65.9 billion dollars, and another 3.9 billion dollars remained unused.
At the same time, about 58 billion out of the 183 billion dollars in total aid to Ukraine was spent in the United States on the development of the defense industry.
In turn, President Volodymyr Zelensky, in response to Trump’s statement, said that the total cost of the war since February 2022 was about $320 billion.
“Of these, 120 billion are us, the people of Ukraine, taxpayers, and 200 billion are the US and the European Union. This is the cost of weapons. This is the weapons package – 320 billion dollars,” the Ukrainian leader explained.
The Kiel Institute for World Economics, which tracks military, financial and humanitarian support for Ukraine, said the EU, Britain, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland had given about $140 billion in aid to Ukraine, while the United States had given about $120 billion.
“The United States has provided Ukraine with about $2 billion more in military aid than Europe, but European donors have been the main source of aid to Ukraine since 2022, especially when it comes to financial and humanitarian assistance,” the institute’s report said.
At the same time, if we look at the GDP of donor countries, aid to Ukraine constituted only a small part. For example, the USA, Germany and Great Britain mobilized less than 0.2% of annual GDP to support Kyiv, and France, Italy and Spain – about 0.1%.
“Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Congress has appropriated or otherwise made available nearly $183 billion for Operation Atlantic Resolve (OAR) and the broader response to Ukraine. In addition, the United States has provided $20 billion in loans under the G7 Revenue Acceleration Emergency Loan Initiative,” the U.S. government’s Ukraine Oversight Working Group said in a statement.
Thus, US aid to Ukraine does not exceed 203 billion dollars.
Economists estimate that U.S. commitments solely to supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia totaled $128 billion as of December 31, 2024. Analysts point out that most of the aid to Ukraine remains in the U.S., with only a small percentage going directly to Kyiv.
It is noted that even if we take into account all the money that is somehow connected with the war in Ukraine, the total US obligations as of April 24, 2024 would reach $213 billion. Although this amount exceeds the official figure, it does not reach the $350 billion announced by Trump.
