24 hours hunting Putin’s soldiers as a Ukrainian drone pilot | video commentary

The Telegraph

Dimko Zhluktenko is a Ukrainian soldier who, until recently, operated drones in the Donbas.

He has shared hours of exclusive footage showing what the high-risk role looks like in practice.

From taking shelter in a van hidden by trees to running down into a bunker, he documents and narrates a day in the life of a drone operator.

Many memoirs concerning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine understandably focus on the battlefield. However, a lot of fundraising has gone into helping those on the front line. Dimko Zhluktenko’s new book offers an insight into this world, revealing the emotions behind attempts to maintain Ukraine’s resistance to aggression.

    • Surprisingly good, though horrifying article from the Irish Times.
Surprising because Ireland is the fourth wealthiest country in the world in terms of GDP per capita. Yet it gives very close to fuck all to Ukraine. As the brilliant Caolan Robertson has proved, Ireland is highly corrupt and is helping putlerstan to murder innocent Ukrainians.
Ireland also has a growing fascist movement, spearheaded by Krasnov’s pals IRA/Sinn Fein.
The Irish Times is relatively reputable though and this article seems to be very well-informed.
None of this has stirred the Taoiseach to help Ukraine, or close down the putinaZi aluminium plant though.

  2. A timely and wise warning from Penny Mordaunt, Def Sec under Boris:

“We have a choice: spend 5 per cent of GDP on defence now or spend 50 per cent later when we go to war. And that’s not even to mention the other terrible costs of a hot war.”

  3. Operator Starsky :

Ukraine received first package of GEREON drones from Germany. These are multi-purpose land drones capable of carrying supplies or combat modules. This removes the necessity to risk the lives of the soldiers. The drones were assembled and deployed by DEUTZ and ARX Robotics in record time: the whole process only took about 12 weeks.

In the meantime, the russians keep searching the lost hand of their medieval saint, lost during the retreat near Lyman. The russian priests say if the holy relic is captured by the Ukrainian army, they might use it to conduct the magic attack on the russian dictator.

  4. Dimko Zlutenko :

A dozen Chinese volunteers are fighting for Ukraine in one reconnaissance unit, repairing drones, training as FPV pilots, handling explosives.

Super interesting & unexpected. I thank them for their decision.

    Russian intelligence operating from within.

The SBU says it has dismantled a GRU network in Kharkiv, detaining four suspects accused of directing Russian strikes and tracking Ukrainian soldiers, law enforcement officers and judges.

Two mobile operator security employees allegedly exploited access to subscribers’ call records and locations. A defence factory employee is accused of helping Russia target her own workplace.

The operation was personally coordinated by Oleksandr Poklad.
