The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, spoke about raids to identify migrants who had recently received Russian citizenship but had not registered for military service. According to him, the agency has already “caught” about 80,000 such citizens, 20,000 of whom have been sent to the front in Ukraine.

“We have already caught 80 thousand such Russian citizens who, not only do they not want to go to the front line, they do not want to go to the military registration and enlistment office. <…> They have registered them for military service, and already 20 thousand “young” Russian citizens who for some reason do not like living in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan are on the front line,” he said at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
Bastrykin also noted that raids take place regularly with the participation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian National Guard .
As an example, he cited a participant in Operation Trumpet, a native of Tajikistan , who, he said, agreed to go to war in order to obtain citizenship.
