As Moscow Railway reported on Telegram, the accident occurred at 7:26 a.m. near the border with Belarus. It is reported that the truck driver drove onto a railroad crossing in front of the train.

“The train driver applied emergency braking, but the distance was insufficient and the collision could not be avoided. As a result of the incident, according to preliminary information, the locomotive and 18 cars with gasoline derailed, with the cargo subsequently catching fire,” the report detailed.
As a result of the collision, the driver and assistant driver received moderate injuries. According to preliminary data, the truck driver died.
