Demand for Russian assets in the UK, which will be confiscated and sold to support Ukraine’s war effort, has skyrocketed.

Vladimir Putin’s regime owns luxury properties across London. Its value is estimated at tens of millions of dollars.

The Telegraph writes that journalists discovered 10 real estate properties belonging to Russia in the most elite areas of the British capital. It is noted that the properties are in a state of disrepair, and neighbors have reported that some of them have been empty for several years, but Russian-speaking people used to live there.

At the same time, the documents on ownership of some real estate objects contain a warning that they cannot be sold without the consent of Ukraine.

Highgate – £2.4 million (about $2.97 million)

Not far from the cemetery where Karl Marx is buried and the ponds of Hampstead Heath, on a hill in the northern part of London, there is a house that belongs to the Russian Federation. Also nearby are the defense attache’s office and the trade delegation, next to which John Betjeman once lived, and which the British authorities used to call a “den of spies”.

The house is now in a state of disrepair, and neighbors said it has been empty for at least “several years.” The path and driveway are overgrown with weeds, and the black metal gate is padlocked.

The neighbor reported that the house still belongs to the Russian Federation and that she periodically has to call the trade delegation to ask them to deal with the trees.

Highgate – £2.3 million (about $2.85 million)

About 80 yards around the corner is another Russia-related lot that’s falling on bad times. The garden was overgrown with grass and wildflowers, and the paint was peeling from the outer walls. It is one of four houses on a private estate believed to be owned by Russia.

The neighbor said that the nearby Russian trade delegation occasionally sends someone to cut the grass. She added that the house next door belongs to the British secret services, so they can “surveill each other”.

The house is valued at around £2.3 million. One of the neighbors said that in the last 35 years, she has not seen anyone come in or out.

A third neighbor said: “We’ve heard stories of people breaking into houses in the area and finding surveillance equipment in the attic.”

Kensington – £1.5 million (about $1.86 million)

Indoor plants grow in the courtyard of the red brick building and a Volkswagen with diplomatic license plates is parked. The property is located in an area where apartments have sold for an average of £1,487,000 in the past year.

On the wall leading to the front door, a mural is painted, on which two video cameras are installed and a gold plaque confirming that the building is the “permanent representation of the Russian Federation at the International Maritime Organization.”

A middle-aged man with a Russian accent, wearing a white vest, confirmed that he works for the international maritime organization on behalf of Russia. He also said that the building still belongs to the Russian Federation, and its residents are Russians “from top to bottom.”

Holland Park – £1.65 million (over $2 million)

The house is located on a street where flats are selling for £1.65m, with residents including Ed Sheeran and Elton John.

  1. Does this surprise anyone? Not me? Although GREAT Britain is a dear friend this should haven dealt with long ago. If GB is such a great friend I wonder what our enemies are doing?

    • An academic friend of mine was once invited to the “Trade Delegation” in Highgate. It was always a snake pit of poisoners and thieves. He said the place was an absolute shithouse, because they lived like pigs.
I had no idea the buildings were now derelict though.
The govt means business now. From the DT:
“Several of the properties appeared to include a caution in their title deeds that means they could not be sold without Ukraine’s consent.”

Also bear in mind that the number of rich putinaZi properties in NYC and Florida vastly outnumber anything in London.

      • You are absolutely right about Russian properties in the US. They should identified sold with proceeds going to Ukraine. However need I remind you who is our president and national security advisor?

  2. Are these properties included in the $300 billion mafia assets that were frozen? What about the mafia properties in the US and elsewhere in the West? Does anyone know?
