Another colour revolution?

May 23, 2024

Western outlets are enthusiastically speculating whether another color revolution or a Maidan-like movement is about to kick off in Georgia, leading up to the October elections. Meanwhile, Georgian independent media, CSOs and opposition politicians are collectively and individually raising the alarm, more imminently concerned that if the West is weak or slow in its response, the ruling regime will continue to slide towards a Russia-inspired autocracy, only to “find itself” once again within Moscow’s orbit.

When Jonathan Fink invited me to have a candid discussion about where the situation stands following weeks of mass protests, and what’s at stake if the ruling party manages to stay in power despite growing unrest and instability, I gladly accepted. As an avid listener/viewer of Jonathan’s highly engaging Silicon Curtain podcast, I knew going into the interview that these would not be middle-of-the-road questions, but rather, an informed, thoughtful conversation that I’m very grateful to have been a part of.
