Well-known military expert Oleg Zhdanov spoke about the transfer to Ukraine of powerful NASAMS and IRIS-T anti-missile systems that will help protect Ukrainian cities from Russian missile attacks.

“We expect that the first NASAMS systems should come up in the coming weeks. There will be six complexes, the United States has already concluded a deal worth $ 182 million to supply us with six NASAMS complexes. And German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed that Ukraine will receive the first complex in the near future IRIS-T. They are both anti-missile, and they will both help us in terms of the program to close our skies, ” he said .

According to Zhdanov, in general, Ukrainian defenders have learned how to shoot down Russian missiles

“As for missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine, especially with cruise missiles, today our fighter aircraft have learned to shoot down. If Calibers are launched from a long distance, for example, from the Black Sea, then we manage to raise fighter aircraft, and our pilots are quite “They are successfully fighting the Caliber. Plus, if the Caliber hit the radar screens, then we also learned how to shoot them down.”

  1. Air defense systems are for defense, as the name implies, so I will never comprehend the West’s complete lethargy to help Ukraine in this regard. Many, many innocent lives could’ve been saved if things had moved quickly!

    • Yeah, the minute Mr. Magoo unilaterally decided not to close the skies over Ukraine and also not allow Poland to give Ukraine their old MiGs, he should have made this move to deliver these NASAMS even though they are more than $200 million each. All 6 are $1.3 billion.
