President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Ukraine will not make territorial concessions, regardless of the results of the US elections or the level of continued support from the United States.
Source: Zelenskyy in an interview with South Korean broadcaster KBS
Details: The president emphasised that no matter who wins the US elections or whether US political support shifts, Ukraine will not compromise on its territories.
Quote: “A new US president could either strengthen or reduce support for Ukraine. A reduction in support would give Russia more chances to occupy us and would limit our ability to win this war. That’s a fact.”
Addressing a possible shift in US policy if Donald Trump wins the presidency, Zelenskyy expressed concern over potential pressure on Ukraine.
Quote: “In the case of Trump, given his stance as a man of action, he has declared he wants to end the war quickly and find some model for doing so. However, if Trump, in the event of victory, seeks to force Ukraine into surrendering its territory as a way of making a deal with Russia, I don’t see this as feasible.”
Zelenskyy underscored that Ukraine will not recognise its occupied territories as Russian, “no matter what anyone wants, who wins in the United States, or how long Putin remains Russia’s leader – it’s simply impossible”.
Quote: “Ukraine, in any case, has no constitutional right to relinquish its legitimate state territories. Legally, this is just impossible, no matter what Putin imagines”
Commenting on Ukraine’s military actions in Russia’s Kursk Oblast, Zelenskyy specified that Ukraine does not need Russian territories.
Quote: “We haven’t occupied anything – we’ve created a buffer zone, the same kind they wanted to set up against us in that direction… We’re not planning to live there, nor to take their land – it’s of no interest to us. Our goal is to reclaim our own territories. If, in ending the war, through diplomatic steps, or even current tactical military actions on the battlefield, this operation has an effective impact, we’ll use it.”

House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Turner believes that the United States and NATO allies should be prepared to “attack directly North Korean troops” if they become involved in combat operations in Ukraine on Russia’s side.
Source: European Pravda with reference to Voice of America
Details: Turner also believes Ukraine should respond to Russian attacks with strikes using weapons provided by alias on targets deep within Russian territory.
He emphasised that the involvement of North Korean forces in the war against Ukraine should be a red line for the US and NATO and allies should not rule out attacks on North Korean troops if they fight in Ukraine.
Quote: “I think the United States and NATO allies should seriously discuss and consider attacking directly North Korean troops that are in Ukraine and that are attacking Ukraine.”
“North Korean troops do not belong in Europe attacking another European nation,” Turner said.
“I think it is in NATO’s interest and certainly the United States’ interests as a member of NATO that Asian North Korean communist troops should not be marching into a European country and attacking it,” he added.
Turner stressed that a decision to attack North Korean troops does not necessarily need to be made but stated that “a valid discussion should be had”.
“I think they should have the discussion that North Korean troops should not be free from not being valid military targets by both NATO and the United States,” Turner pointed out.
Background:
- U.S. officials recently reported that around 8,000 North Korean troops are currently stationed in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.
- The latest US estimate is that North Korea has deployed approximately 10,000 troops to Russia for training and to support combat operations against Ukraine.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the current Western response to North Korea’s involvement as “zero”.

…”if Trump, in the event of victory, seeks to force Ukraine into surrendering its territory as a way of making a deal with Russia, I don’t see this as feasible.”
Well said Zel. Absolutely right.
As for Congressman Mike Turner: well done for responding to the nork outrage and at least trying to get this debate off the ground.
I fear that he will be ignored and as usual; as with everything else, it will be left to Ukraine to smoke the norks.
But Sir Scradgel it shows there are still republicans, albeit few, that still have a sense of what democracy is all about. I believe or hope the few will grow into many once the maniac and his morons leave us alone.
Definitely!
I don’t know how many though.
The magaputler shitheads have to be defeated. Then principled people like Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney might again have a voice.
They of course are too old. Which leaves people like Rubio and Haley. Both these I liked for their firm stance on putler. But then both of them inexplicably threw their hats in with Trumpkov, which unfortunately demonstrates a lack of integrity.
One of my favourite Reagan Republicans is Steven Moore, who is so out of step with the mainstream that he went to live in Kyiv in 2022 and helps out there as much as he can.
We need a lot more like him.
Absolutely agree. Haley and Rubio are a disappointment to me. Perhaps I’m rationalizing their behavior in thinking that both have aspirations for the presidency, both are from deep red states and don’t want to antagonize the electorate. As for Steve Moore he’s an absolutely wonderful human being.
