President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed laws to extend the period of martial law in Ukraine, as well as to extend the period of general mobilisation.

Details: This is the eleventh extension of martial law and mobilisation since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Background:
- On 6 May, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted bills to approve decrees on the extension of martial law and the duration of general mobilisation to the Verkhovna Rada.
- On 8 May, the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) approved the presidential decrees extending martial law and general mobilisation until 11 August 2024.

IMO it should have gone farther, but either way Allies need to deploy Forces in Ukraine.
That would help a lot. But the political will to send Nato troops to Ukraine depends very much on Zelenskyy’s efforts to defend his country. If it looks as if Ukrainians aren’t doing their part anymore, public opinion in the West will turn against weighing in on a ‘lost cause’. So, it’s essential now to prove the continuing figting spirit of the defenders! 🤨
I’d like to read more about mobilization. How’s recruiting going, is everything going according to plans, what about training efforts, when will the first wave arrive at the front? Ukrainian media seems to avoid this hot topic, but even in wartimes, some public pressure is necessary. 🙁
