Zelenskyy rejects negotiations with Russia, Medvedev responds with threats

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said that Russia still demands “total surrender of Ukraine on its own terms”, commenting on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement about the impossibility of negotiations with the Russian Federation until the war is over.

Quote from Medvedev: “A certain Zelenskyy said that he will not hold a dialogue with those who issue ultimatums.

This year’s ultimatums are a mere warm-up before the demands [to be made] in the future. And he knows these: the total surrender of the Kyiv regime on Russia’s terms.”

Previously: On 10 September, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine stressed that it still was impossible to negotiate the end of the war with the Russian Federation because it had failed to formulate any adequate offers.

  • The Armed Forces of Ukraine are carrying out a successful counteroffensive on the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine.
  • Oleksii Reznikov, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, reported that the counteroffensive in Kharkiv Oblast was going “much better than expected.”
  • In particular, Zelenskyy said that in Kharkiv Oblast, defenders of Ukraine had regained control of more than 30 settlements.
  • After the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the settlements of Kharkiv Oblast, Sergey Lavrov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, said that Moscow is not opposed to negotiations with Ukraine.

  1. I have never heard of an advancing army surrendering to an army in total retreat and disarray. I think Medvedev should do everyone a favour and toss himself out of the nearest 6th floor window.

  2. I am beginning to wonder if the rag-bag military are telling their masters the truth about how bad things are.

    The alternative is ;
They are all too afraid to tell putler the truth,
    or,
They are all as deluded as putler.

  3. There is little doubt that the crazed suicidal alcoholic nazi Medvedev speaks for the putler regime. Proof that Zel’s decision to refuse any negotiations until ALL the putrid orcs have gone forever was the right one.
There is a demented pattern emerging: various members of the demonic putler regime make successive statements to sew confusion. Simonyan threatens genocide, then makes a conciliatory statement. Ditto Lavrov. Putler and Medvedev however are consistent: total surrender or nothing.
It could play out as follows:
1/ The allies finally take the plunge and give Ukraine EVERYTHING she needs to defeat the putinazis. (No brainer; what other choice is there?).
2/ The Ukrainians defeat the putinazis and push them right out.
3/ Putler remains in power and builds up his forces for his next full scale invasion one or several years down the road.
The war continues and putler attacks by SSM’s, ASM’s, sub-launched cruise missiles.
4/ The allies finally provide squadrons of modern warplanes; F16’s, A10’s etc.
5/ The Ukrainian air defences get steadily better and the air threat becomes controllable enough for life to approach normality.
6/ Russia remains constantly in a low level war with Ukraine, like the NK-SK conflict, with occasional skirmishes.
7/ Ukraine fortifies its long borders.
8/ Ukraine considers taking some putinazi land in the Belgorod and Azov coast areas as a buffer.
9/ By this time Ukraine has 1m combat troops with the same numbers in reserve.
10/ Economic activity returns to pre-war norms.
11/ Rebuilding commences; with the $350bn of sequestered putinazi funds.
12/ Ukraine pursues Russia through the courts for reparations.
13/ Ukraine pursues Russian war criminals through the courts and also by less orthodox means.

The only thing better than the above is a coup; the putler regime members are all arrested and democracy begins to take root. As we know, it’s a long shot because a majority of Russians are genocide-loving halfwits.

All the above is possible only with a long term commitment from the allies.

    • Wow well thought out list. I like your first point about the Allies and no brainer. Given the hesitancy of a number of the so called allies I would define those as “no brains.” Where is a President Reagan clone when we need his leadership most.

    • Yes, quite a turn of events among the retired Generals, journos and silly pundits. There were even people calling for negotiations before 24 February and many times since, though most on this site knew Ukraine would root out the evil in due time and didn’t think negotiations with the ruZZo-Satan were needed.
