President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has criticized the call of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to the leader of the aggressor country, russia, vladimir putin, regarding peace talks.
Zelenskyy wrote about this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
“We all hope that Viktor Orbán won’t call Assad in Moscow at least to listen to his hour-long lectures. It is absolutely clear that achieving real peace and guaranteed security requires America’s determination, Europe’s unity, and the willingness of all partners to adhere to the goals and principles of the UN Charter,” he noted.
Zelenskyy also added that one should not play on one’s own image at the expense of unity – one should take care of common success.
“It is unity in Europe that always brings success. Talks about the war against Ukraine, which Russia is waging, cannot take place without Ukraine,” he stressed.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and many European leaders with whom Ukraine is already working together to find the right and strong solutions for the sake of real peace.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, after meeting with Trump, Orbán offered putin assistance in finding ways to politically and diplomatically end the war in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy called his meeting on December 7 with French President Emmanuel Macron and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump productive and stated that they all want to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible and fairly.
The russian dictator’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported that the decision to grant asylum to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and his family in russia was made by putin.
