Ukraine has an unexpected “ally” in the White House – Melania Trump. Despite her formal status as First Lady, Melania is proving to be one of the most influential voices in US President Donald Trump’s inner circle regarding the war in Ukraine.
According to The Times , it was she who reminded Donald Trump of the scale of destruction and civilian casualties resulting from Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities.

Journalists note that Melania, a native of Slovenia (former Yugoslavia), has a deep personal understanding of the threats posed by Moscow’s aggressive policies. This is likely what shapes her clear position in favor of Ukraine.
Melania’s biographer, Mary Jordan, notes: “This is not at all surprising, given that she grew up in a country that does not like Russia… She has more experience than many people in the cabinet in trying to get her point across.”
In February 2022, after the start of the full-scale invasion, when Trump called Putin a “genius”, Melania publicly condemned the killings of civilians and called on her followers on social media to help the Red Cross: “My thoughts and prayers are with the Ukrainian people,” she wrote at the time.
Returning to Washington after an extended stay at Mar-a-Lago, Melania spent several weeks preparing for diplomatic receptions and actively studying foreign policy. And although she usually stays out of public political discussions, her opinion seems to have a real impact on the president’s decisions.
“He especially listens to people who are very close to him. And especially if their last name is Trump,” Mary Jordan summarizes.
The publication notes that Melania does not have an official role in making foreign policy decisions, but her position may turn out to be more significant than analysts predict. And if Ukraine is currently receiving support in the White House, it is partly thanks to her vote.
Melania is probably his best advisor.

I believe the sincerity of the article, although I have no first hand knowledge. Based on her previous activities, Melania is not a MAGA nut job. I’ll continue to hope this is true

The reason real Americans despise MAGA is because of the white nationalism, racism and hatred. It’s the antithesis of American values.
