Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has turned to the authorities of Western states Ukrainians fled to with a request to send men of military age back to Ukraine but they did not agree.

Details: Bloomberg reports that Zelenskyy tried to convince his allies to help him bring back the men of military age to Ukraine. He discussed this issue with them at bilateral meetings but “Politicians from Poland to Hungary have said they won’t send refugees back as long as the war rages on”.
Bloomberg noted that there is also an economic reason for such a refusal: many companies in these countries lack employees, for instance, for newly built car factories or battery plants.
Moreover, Ukrainian refugee households in Poland support themselves, with 80% of their incomes coming from local jobs. In Czechia Ukrainian refugees paid twice as much in taxes in the first quarter of the year as they received in welfare benefits. The country also has the lowest unemployment level in the EU – 2.7% which makes the search for employees harder.
“To be blunt, many Czech companies depend on Ukrainian refugees’ skills and hard work. The construction industry, for example, would come to a complete standstill without Ukrainian workers,” said Tomas Prouza, the head of the main lobby group for the Czech retail and hospitality industry.
Bloomberg noted that Europe sheltered millions of Ukrainian refugees after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The European governments provided them with a special status and financial aid.
The UN Agency for Refugees’ Affairs reports that about 5 million Ukrainians remain refugees in Western states.

The UK took about 200,000 Ukrainians since 2022. I know; it’s a piss poor amount. As far as I am aware they are all single women or married women with children whose husbands are fighting the vermin.
An absurd loophole was closed in which single pervy males were allowed to host Ukrainian women; some with kids, some not. On the flip side some hot young Ukrainian girls were placed with young British families with predictable results.
In Germany, there are quite a few Ukrainian guys of fighting age. It’s time to bring them back. If they don’t want to fight, that’s ok, they can work in one of the many crucial ancillary jobs that the ZSU needs filled. Gamers can fly drones. Of course girl nerds can be used too.
Bottom line is that Ukraine needs 2m troops to take land, hold land and defend Ukraine for as long as nazi monsters with the mindset of Alexandr Dugin still exist, which could be 20, 30 or 100 years.
I just can’t comprehend the utter stupidity of the entire Western world! Is there anything they’re doing that’s not cowardly, moronic, slow, backward, or unjust?
Ukraine should cancel the citizenship and nationalize any property these Ukrainian men and women may have left behind. Shame on the West for offering them a ride instead of ammunition.

I laugh at your statements Onlyfats. If your own people wanted to fight then they would have stayed. Instead they fled for their lives across the border. Should we call them cowards or blame the neighboring countries for taking in Ukrainian refugees ?
How many would return if they were offered a place to live and a job to go to.? Or better yet why would they return to a country at war when they have nice new cozy home. Hell I’ve even met a couple here in the U.S. who fled.

The moral of this war is that your allies can also be your “enemies”:
The slowness of military supplies, the limit of action imposed on the AFU on Russian soil, the Western components which continue to constitute the missiles and Shahed, the Western companies which continue to do business in Russia, the hydrocarbons which still “miraculously” escape sanctions and now cheap labor who should serve their country rather than laying bricks in Poland or the Czech Republic.
If Ukraine comes out of this, it can be very proud of having fought a thousand-headed hydra.
That said, the choice of certain Ukrainians who fled and who could help on their own scale concerns me. The existential threat to the Ukrainian state is at stake.
