President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky notes that the Russian occupying forces now want to capture the entire Donbass and southern Ukraine.

The head of state said this in a video message published on the social network Facebook .

“Our defenders and defenders continue to regain control over communities in the Kiev and Chernihiv regions. There are more and more Ukrainian national flags in the areas that were temporarily occupied. The armed forces of Ukraine do not let the invaders go without a fight, inflict fire damage, destroy everyone they can reach” Zelensky stressed.

“We are strengthening the defense in the eastern direction and in the Donbass. We are aware that the enemy has reserves to increase pressure in the east of the state. What is the goal of the Russian troops? They want to capture both the Donbass and southern Ukraine. What is our goal? To protect us – our freedom, our land, our people. Do everything to protect it,” Zelensky stressed.

“Our heroic Mariupol continues to hold back a significant part of the enemy forces. Thanks to this resistance, thanks to the courage and resilience of our other cities, Ukraine received invaluable time, the time that allows us to give the enemy’s tactics and weaken his capabilities,” Zelensky stressed.

The Ukrainian army has already completely liberated the Kiev region, a cleansing of the Chernihiv region is underway. Due to the failure of the attack on the capital, Russia is regrouping troops to attack in the eastern direction.

The American press wrote that Putin wants to encircle the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the JFO zone in order to have leverage over the Ukrainian delegation during the negotiations.
