The document withdraws Clause 9 from Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Electoral Code of Ukraine13:30, 19 September 2020

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed Law No. 3995, which allows running in local elections without providing a police clearance certificate. This is evidenced by the data on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to them, on September 17 the law was signed by the chairman of the parliament, and on September 18 it was returned with a signature from the president.
The bill removes clause 9 of part 1 of Art. 222 of the Electoral Code of Ukraine, requiring the provision of a certificate of the presence or absence of a criminal record for some candidates in local elections.
“Thus, all candidates in the local elections will be in equal conditions regarding the confirmation of good conduct and will mark this information only in their autobiography,” the explanatory note to the document says.
The purpose of the bill is to simplify the conditions for registering candidates for deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regional, district, district councils in the city, as well as city, rural, settlement councils (territorial communities with the number of voters equaling 10,000 and more).

“The bill removes clause 9 of part 1 of Art. 222 of the Electoral Code of Ukraine, requiring the provision of a certificate of the presence or absence of a criminal record for some candidates in local elections.”
Why is it bad for a political candidate to provide evidence of a criminal record or that there isn’t one? Does the clown now want criminals running in local elections?
Or, are the police so corrupt that they would take bribes to bring forth such documents of political opponents who really don’t have any and vice versa?
WTF?!
He must think Ukraine is a region of RuSSia…
Only criminals may run in elections: Zelensky.
