Donald Trump said that the president of Ukraine should be ready to conclude a ceasefire.

US President-elect Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should prepare to conclude an agreement to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

According to Trump, he received a signal from the Ukrainian head of state that he “wants peace.” Therefore, the American politician intends to discuss this with Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin.

Trump also emphasized that he considers the decision of US President Joe Biden’s administration to allow Ukraine to strike Russian territory with Western missiles “stupid and wrong.”

During the press conference, Trump also said that there is not a single building in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and people will not return there.

“People have nowhere to return. There is nothing there, only ruins,” he said.

This was in response to the question “should Ukraine cede part of its territory to Russia?” According to the US president-elect, it could take up to 100 years to rebuild Ukrainian cities damaged by the war.

Trump also admitted at a press conference that he did not invite Zelensky to his inauguration in January:

“But if he wants to come, I’d like him to. I mean, I didn’t invite him now.”

  1. “People have nowhere to return. There is nothing there, only ruins,”

There is $300 billion in russian money that can be used to rebuild Ukraine and a wealth of minerals to extract. Is Trump playing dumb, or is he trying to shift responsibilty onto Zelensky to stop fighting?

  2. It appears President Trump is still bitter over the Impeachment. He’s letting his emotions govern his policy. How he handles the Ukraine-Russia War may be one of his defining moments. Hope he doesn’t end up creating another US fiasco like Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

    • If he forces a fake truce deal on Ukraine, just to say he brought peace, he will create something far worse than our Afghanistan fiasco.
