Ukraine needs ATACMS to destroy enemy supply lines.

Volodymyr Zelensky requested ATACMS missiles for the HIMARS MLRS during a visit to Washington . However, the US has not changed its mind on this matter. The states are still not going to provide these weapons to Ukraine.

This information was shared by Politico in a fresh article about the war. Journalists reported that increasing the supply of equipment and ammunition is the main goal of the President of Ukraine. Zelensky called for more modern weapons to be sent to our country. However, the US government did not approve all requests.

According to the source, the President of Ukraine raised the issue of sending ATACMS to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the US did not change its mind and refused to provide missiles. At the same time, it is now important for our country to receive ATACMS, since the Russian occupiers have adapted to the use of HIMARS.

They moved their control centers and warehouses with weapons and ammunition beyond the line of destruction of the mentioned MLRS. This opinion was expressed by the former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Danilyuk.

“HIMARS was a watershed moment. To the point that Russia has learned to adapt to it. Now we’ve kind of reached the limit of what we can do with these modern weapons. For the next stage, we need longer-range weapons to achieve those goals , which we achieved four months ago when we first received HIMARS. We can do the same, but the range should be greater, “Danilyuk said.

A similar opinion was expressed by the former commander of US Forces in Europe, General Ben Hodges. According to him, ATACMS is “exactly what they [the Armed Forces] need.” Longer-range weapons will allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike at key enemy positions, such as the Crimean bridge, air bases on the peninsula and supply lines.

Politico previously wrote that officials were considering sending Boeing’s proposed small-diameter ground-launched bombs. Their range is approximately 150 kilometers.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the potential supply of ATACMS as follows: “This will be a deterrent for the aggressor, who will no longer be able to exert such terror.”

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov stated that it is impossible to adapt to HIMARS. MLRS can hit any target, but the problem is within reach.
