The Ukraine Freedom Project polled Republicans earlier this month. Support for Ukraine has grown dramatically. The folks at the Wall Street Journal saw our poll and let Colby and me write about for their op-ed page.

Support for military aid for Ukraine is surging among President Trump’s voters, due in part to a shift in President Volodymyr Zelensky’s strategy.

In March 2022, 67% of Trump voters viewed Mr. Zelensky favorably. But between millions of dollars of Russian disinformation directed against him, Mr. Trump’s unflattering accusations and Mr. Zelensky’s own missteps, that figure dropped to 19% by March 2025.

The most obvious misstep came last year, when Mr. Zelensky appeared with Kamala Harris surrogates at a campaign-style event in Pennsylvania, 44 days before the election and 155 days after House Speaker Mike Johnson put his job on the line to pass the $61 billion Ukraine aid bill.

Mr. Zelensky’s team ignored Mr. Trump’s voters. For years certain conservative media personalities turned conservatives against Ukraine, while pro-Ukraine forces respond on CNN, MSNBC or “60 Minutes.”

Now Mr. Zelensky gives interviews on “The Ben Shapiro Show,” “Special Report with Brett Baier” and Newsmax. In August, the Ukrainian president hosted an American-style prayer breakfast in Kyiv, attracting thousands of believers from Ukraine, America and across the globe. Soon after, the well-liked Trinity Broadcasting Network host Joel Rosenberg interviewed Mr. Zelensky in Kyiv.

Since June, Ukraine Freedom Project polling has shown a 22-point swing in support for military aid among religious conservatives and an 18-point swing among Republicans who attend church weekly. Mr. Zelensky’s change in tactics more than doubled his rating among Trump voters in the last seven months. Why is this important? Our poll of Republican primary voters in October found that 78% of Republicans who like Mr. Zelensky also favor military aid to Ukraine.

SHOCKING – Is MAGA Aligning with Ukraine and Zelenskyy Now?

Silicon Curtain

Steven Moore is a political strategist, who spent seven years as a chief of staff and senior leadership aide in the United States Congress, developing relationships with senior policymakers across the United States and around the world. He worked on Capitol Hill in the House of Representatives mostly as chief of staff for former Rep. Pete Roskam (R-Ill.), the former chief deputy GOP whip. In that role, Moore was one of the most influential staff members on the Republican side of the aisle.

Steven Moore: Advocating for Ukraine Amid Russian Imperialism.

In this episode, political strategist Steven Moore, who has extensive experience as a senior leadership aide in the U.S. Congress, discusses his journey from Capitol Hill to advocating for Ukraine. Moore highlights his efforts to garner Republican support for Ukraine through his deeply moving film, ‘Faith Under Siege,’ which documents the challenges faced by Ukrainian Christians. He emphasizes the importance of truthful, impactful narratives in changing public opinion and combating Russian disinformation. Moore also sheds light on the significant role that Republican voters and evangelicals play in shaping U.S. foreign policy. The conversation touches on the broader implications of the information war between Russia and Ukraine, the Western perception of the conflict, and the necessity of appealing to self-interest to foster international support for Ukraine.

  1. Steven Moore is a strong advocate for Ukraine and he has made some headway.
He is also a Trumper, which is baffling, since the Krasnov cabinet consists exclusively of pure crud recruited from the Putin wing of the GOP.

  2. “Our poll of Republican primary voters in October found that 78% of Republicans who like Mr. Zelensky also favor military aid to Ukraine.”

It doesn’t reveal though what percentage of Republicans do like Zel.
I suspect that thanks to Carlson, Musk, Taylor-Greene, Owens, Krasnov Jr (who called Zel a “welfare Queen”) and Krasnov himself (who said he was a dictator and a “great salesman”), it’s still a pretty low number.

    • You’re correct. Moore seems to mix and match different polls From what I can gather 51% of republicans favor military aid up from 30% in March 2025. Seems 62% of the US population favors military aid up from 52% in March 2025. Also 74% Republicans and 77% Dems want more sanctions on Russia. Finally 60% of the US population favors Zelensky. Seems Taco is out of step with his party and the US citizens.

      • And Zelensky pulled it off without demeaning Trump supporters. He understands he wants ALL of the US support, not just half. That’s a lesson we could use here; to use persuasion and tolerance instead of labels and insults. Like I’ve been saying here for years. That is, if you love Ukraine more than you hate “TACO”. Ukraine will be around forever, Trump, just a short time.

        • Ukraine will be around when i pull off my show in the near future. Zelensky is a trojan horse. If it is true that ruSSians always lie, why is their statement they hate Zelensky considered true?

        • From what I’ve seen in the negative postings about Trump in this blog are related to his dishonesty, his out right lies, his love of Putin, his fascist tendencies (please don’t argue about this, it reeks from him everyday), his hatred of Ukraine and its people, and frankly most disgusting his absolute love of himself and if you don5 kiss his ass he will come after you. If he has anything positive, for 8nstance thoose few moments when he was sending tomahawks, I saw a general appreciation and a distrust of his follow through.
