US officials who met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Munich offered him to sign a document on Ukraine’s mineral resources .

According to it, half of the country’s future mineral resources would have passed into the possession of the United States, but the Ukrainian leader refused it. This is reported by The Washington Post, citing representatives of Congress.

“Several legislators here in Munich told me that the US congressional delegation presented Zelensky with a piece of paper they wanted him to sign that would give the US rights to 50% of Ukraine’s future mineral reserves. Zelensky politely declined to sign it,” the publication’s journalist Josh Rogin wrote on social media X.

At the same time, Reuters sources reported that Zelensky expressed concern about the agreement prepared by the United States during a meeting with a group of American senators in Munich.

“[Zelensky] felt that he was being unreasonably asked to sign something that he had not had the opportunity to read,” one of the agency’s sources said.

It is noted that Ukraine will make its proposal, which will be based on the Ukrainian Constitution. The Ukrainian side has not officially commented on this information.

  1. This is what we call taking an advantage of someone. I would like to know how an estimated $500 billion wanted by Trump, has turned into 50% which is worth 10 times that amount?
