The head of state hopes that the United States will never change its policy of supporting Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy , hopes that the policy of the United States of America will not change if Donald Trump wins the US presidential elections in November this year. The head of state said this during a conversation at the Ronald Reagan Institute in Washington.
In particular, Zelensky was asked how the Russian dictator perceives current US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
“He (Putin – UNIAN) does not like America. Biden and Trump are very different, but they support democracy. And for this reason, in my opinion, Putin will hate them both. I think so,” Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine added that the GDP level of the United States of America is ten times greater than that of Russia, so Putin cannot be perceived as a partner. At the same time, Zelenskyi called Putin “small”.
“It is really small, but when we are afraid of it, it starts to get bigger. And this is a mistake of the entire West, including during the last 25 years,” – believes Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine also suggested that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is probably waiting for the elections in the USA in November, because then American policy might change.
“I hope that it will never change,” Zelensky emphasized and added that Putin should understand this.
On the conviction of the President of Ukraine, Putin is trying to divide the world, America and various countries in Europe.
At the same time, according to Zelenskyi, the elections in the USA depend on the American people, and Ukraine respects the decisions of the Americans.
In addition, Zelensky was asked whether he fears that if Trump wins the US presidential election, he will withdraw America from NATO. The President of Ukraine replied that he hoped that the USA would never leave NATO.
“I hope that the United States will never seriously think about leaving NATO,” Zelenskyy said.

Leaving NATO is a chance.
President Eisenhower said in the 1950’s that if Europe could not defend itself within 10 years against Russia, then Nato would have failed. A true functional alliance is not a welfare program where the richest country is expected to subsidize everyone else for 75 years ( especially when combined everyone else’s economy is essentially the same size as the US).
If the US leaves Nato, formally or informally, it will be because the non US Nato members have for the last three decades refused to take their commitments to Nato and to US taxpayers seriously and have refused to undertake and uphold their share of the burden.
Or it will because Trump is a pro-Ruzzian asshole
