The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, believes that refugees could return to Ukraine because there is a shortage of workers. As the UNIAN correspondent reports, the head of state said this at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“As for recovery in general, of course, global recovery will be after the end of the war. And there is no point in motivating Ukrainians now with some slogans. After the end of the war, I am sure that everyone will come to restore our state, because there will be jobs, there will be security. And I I believe that there will be great motivation,” Zelensky noted.
The head of state also expressed his opinion about the prospects of recovery already today.
“We cannot force in any way, but I will say frankly: if today, at such a difficult moment, those who want could come to Ukraine and help restore the state… And there are areas that need to be worked on today, there are people, who were left without homes – they need help, they need working hands, they need these professions,” the president said.
The head of state noted that many people went abroad because of the war.
“Therefore, in order to help Ukraine today with housing (with housing – UNIAN)… to restore some infrastructure, and to be honest, to work at one or another enterprise in order to help the army – I think we would also support such a decision “, – said Zelensky.
Ukrainian refugees in Europe
The European Commission proposed to extend the term of protection of Ukrainian refugees in the EU for one more year – until March 4, 2026. Interior ministers will consider this issue at a meeting in Luxembourg. The EU countries that accepted the largest number of Ukrainian refugees are Germany (more than 1.2 million), Poland (almost one million) and the Czech Republic (almost 400,000 people).

Is being defeated a better choice? So far the front is holding, but not forever. And Ukraine keeps running out of troops already. What i suggested is not what i, who spent ten years lobbying for Ukraine’s interests 24/7, want, but without REAL support it’s the only choice Ukraine will have.
Being defeated and living under russian rule is no choice. Besides it’s up to Ukrainians when they want to negotiate, or if they want to. I doubt you would find any politicians in Ukraine willing to negotiate. Certainly not the important players like Poro.

aged males must be sent back to Ukraine.
Corruption at the border must be mind-boggling if so many had been able to escape in the first place, seeing the ban for 18 to 60-year-olds should’ve prevented them from doing so.
