Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova urged diplomats to evacuate Kyiv ahead of a possible Russian “retaliatory strike on decision-making centers.”

“The Russian Foreign Ministry calls on the authorities of your country or the leadership of your organization to treat this statement with the utmost seriousness and to ensure the timely evacuation from Kyiv of diplomatic and other mission personnel, as well as citizens, due to the inevitability of a retaliatory strike by the Russian Armed Forces on Kyiv, including decision-making centers.”

Russian methodology for deporting Ukrainian children.

Russia has a special methodology for kidnapping children from Ukraine. According to Falcon Flight organization, children are told that their parents have abandoned them, russians split them up with friends every two months and say that they will never return home.

“All the children we have managed to return talk about what they were told about their families. They all had the same period of time – exactly 4 weeks later, they would start talking about how your parents left you, you would not return home. It was a methodology, everything was written there, the deadlines, that you had to talk to a child alone, that you had to separate them every 2 months so that they would not have a sense of unity, so that they would not unite. This is the most widespread scenario of child abduction today.”

“Children are subjected to the same filtration procedure as adults. They are forced to undress during the inspection, forced to give away personal belongings and phones, and are not allowed to answer any questions.”

“Where is my mom? Where did you take her?” A child who gets to a filtration event is instantly deprived of dignity. They try to break him or her right away.”

This is awful! The trauma these children carry will affect many generations to come. Fear of abandonment, rejection, anxiety, depression, lack of love, exclusion, emotional negligence, is what is being carried over if they don’t get into therapy programs early enough.

It has always been this way. Only the brave are respected. And only the strong are taken seriously.

Since 1991, Ukraine’s enemies have done everything to keep our state weak, fragmented, toothless, and dependent. But in 2013, Ukraine began to awaken, to build muscle, and finally came close to understanding the need to assert its own agency. It would have been naïve to think that the birth of this agency would be painless. And an even greater mistake to believe that someone else would pave that path for us.

For eleven years, we’ve fought a war in half-measures against a country that outnumbers and out-resources us. And for three years now, Ukraine has held off the full-scale invasion of one of the most capable armies in the world. The daily heroism of Ukrainian soldiers must inspire us, keep us from despair — no matter what foreign politicians, analysts, or experts may say. The final word belongs to the front.

Yes, we still fall short in many areas, and much work lies ahead. Yes, we believed empty promises and gave up our nuclear weapons, critically weakening our country’s defense. And yet, Ukraine has already done the impossible. Ukraine has already entered the history books — through its resistance to russian occupation, the courage and strength of its military, the power of horizontal civic networks, and the skill of our diplomacy. From all of this, real Ukrainian agency is now emerging. And it is precisely this that infuriates those who cannot tolerate a strong and independent Ukraine.

Everything happening in the information space today must not distract us from the path we have chosen. Just as Ukrainians must not pay any attention to those figures eagerly preparing for political games and phantom elections. All focus — on the front. All strength — for the front.

Hopelessness begins where people, under pressure, stop fighting for what is theirs.

That is not us.

Throughout May 5, Russia carried out numerous attacks across Ukraine. As a result of strikes targeting nine regions, at least 27 people have been killed and over 120 injured – all in a single day.

Russian drones struck a kindergarten in Sumy.

One woman was killed in the attack. She was a security guard at the preschool. No children were present at the time.
