Desire to support Ukraine until it wins has fallen in every country surveyed by YouGov.

The sentiment is shifting, with people supporting a negotiated end to war, even if russia still has control of some parts of Ukraine.

This is really unfortunate, because if russia retains even a small part of Ukraine, it means that aggression pays off. A stronger country can attack a weaker country and annex part of its territory, knowing that in the end they will retain at least part of it.

No, the Christmas scene we are used to seeing in the churches was neither peaceful nor safe.

The Son of God was born in a dangerous, hostile environment, on the territory occupied by Rome. From the first day of His birth, the collaborator Herod tried to kill Jesus at any cost, in order to keep his throne. Jesus had to be destroyed as a dangerous enemy of all who were accustomed to the devil’s system of oppression, destruction, and enslavement.

This seemingly helpless baby was so dangerous to Herod that He needed to be eliminated as soon as possible. For this baby would become the King who would rule over the whole earth until He puts all His enemies under His feet.

The tyrannical systems of Herod, Pharaoh, the king of Babylon, the Roman emperor, could not coexist with the system of King Jesus. This is a conflict of kingdoms, this is a conflict of world systems, this is a war between life and death.

But we know the end of Herod, and all other tyrants of the world. Jesus has overcome all tyranny and this is the certainty and joy of Christmas.
