This order shall enter into force on July 20, 2026.
Starting today, Yevheniy Khmara will officially assume the duties of Minister of Defense.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the corresponding decision . “To temporarily assign the duties of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Khmara Yevheniy Leonidovich. 2. This order shall enter into force on July 20, 2026,” reads the government order signed by the new Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky.
Before that, Khmara temporarily served as the head of the SBU and headed the SBU’s Special Operations Center “A”. But on July 17, President Zelensky dismissed him from these positions.
