Yandex cannot yet confirm the ability to restore equipment at its Sasovo data center following the drone attack, Reuters reported, citing the company’s press service.

One of the five data centers was completely shut down after an attack caused a fire that affected part of the infrastructure.

“The extent of the damage to the infrastructure is still being assessed. We cannot yet confirm the possibility of restoring the data center equipment in Sasovo,” the statement reads.

Yandex previously reported that some services were unavailable to users and that its services were on site addressing the impact.

The data center houses two of Yandex’s three supercomputers, which it uses to train its YandexGPT artificial intelligence model.

Yandex did not report whether the equipment was damaged.
