“Today I had a conversation with citizens of the Russian Federation who support Ukraine. They reported about a camp for Mariupol residents forcibly deported from Ukraine in the Penza region. This is a closed-type institution with several buildings, surrounded by a fence and under guard, at the entrance there is a checkpoint. Freedom of movement of our citizens is limited – it is forbidden to leave the camp,” Denisova said.

According to her, mostly there are women and 147 children of different ages, including babies. One of these days, another batch of forcibly deported people is expected, approximately 150 people.

The Ombudswoman noted that our citizens are in an extremely difficult and depressed condition, they do not know which region of the Russian Federation and when they will be taken. They are not given any information.

“People have been living in the camp for several weeks now. They don’t have the necessary clothes, shoes, even underwear. In fact, they were taken from the basements, in what they were wearing – winter clothes. There is a catastrophic lack of baby food and personal hygiene items. what they give out,” Denisova wrote.

According to her, representatives of Sberbank came to the camp, collected lists for card accounts, said that they would count 10 thousand rubles each, but this did not happen.

Denisova said that Russian activists visited our citizens – they told about the lack of basic things for life and the inability to contact relatives in any way, or return to Ukraine.

The Russians noted that there are also foreign students from Turkmenistan in the camp, who hid in a bomb shelter under a student dormitory in Mariupol without food, water, heat and light, and then independently reached the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region, from where they were forcibly taken to the Russian Federation. Unlike the Ukrainians, they are allowed to go outside the camp. Ours must remain under constant surveillance.

Now Russian activists are collecting funds, food and clothing to help the forcibly deported citizens of Ukraine.

They reported that there are three more similar camps in the Penza region, to which residents of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions were taken back in February before the war. At that time, almost 90,000 residents of the occupied territories of Donbass were deported under duress.

According to activists, Ukrainians are forcibly moved to different regions of the Russian Federation, including Khabarovsk.

As Denisova noted, the forced deportation and deprivation of our citizens of fundamental rights to decent living conditions, freedom of movement, information, are a gross violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the 1949 Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Population during war.

The Ombudswoman called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to immediately provide humanitarian assistance to citizens of Ukraine who were forcibly taken out and placed in concentration camps on the territory of the Russian Federation and to facilitate their return to Ukraine as quickly as possible.

    • We need to hire blackwater to free those people, and get a battle group togeth to free those that wish to leave from the docks of Mariupol.
