According to Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, head of the Bundestag’s defense committee, espionage has always been one of the tools of Russia’s hybrid war.

There is an obvious Russian trace in the wiretapping of German officers’ telephone conversations . This was stated by the head of the Bundestag defense committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, in a comment to n-tv .
According to her, espionage is part of the Russian toolkit of hybrid warfare.
“The fact that conversations are being intercepted is not surprising. It was only a matter of time before it became public,” the politician said.
Strack-Zimmermann also called for a clear response to this incident. In her opinion, Russia wants to prevent Chancellor Olaf Scholz from giving the green light to the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
“We urgently need to strengthen our security and counter-intelligence because we are clearly vulnerable in this area.”

Well, MASZ is simply stating the obvious: Of course, cybersecurity needs to be increased. Still, without officers taking that for serious, it’s useless. Which is why General Gräfe, who carelessly talked in a hotel room in effing Singapore, will probably be fired. To scare the living shit out of every Bundeswehr officer who has security clearance! 🤨

SO SEND THEM!
Btw: “Cisco Webex vulnerabilities may enable attackers to covertly join meetings”
According to some reports, the video conference software used by Bundeswehr. 😣
I’m not sure when the leaked conversation took place, but that bug was fixed over 3 years ago. I’d hope that the Bundestag keeps their software updated with all security patches.
Hopefully so, but we can’t be sure of that. Shit happens at the Bundeswehr. Btw, it was reported that General Gräfe was at the airshow in Singapore, and that ran from February 20th to 25th this year.
