Will Ukraine become a hostage to the US domestic political tensions? Peter Dickinson | KYIV NOT KIEV

  1. Peter lives in Kyiv and is a great friend and advocate for Ukraine.
He says that a US withdrawal from Ukraine support would be a disaster for US prestige globally. (Not to mention a putler victory that would result in death, misery and horror on a biblical scale).
However, if Biden wins next year, Ukraine will not be out of the woods completely, since he has already proved that if he sees it as expedient, he IS prepared to take a decision that results in a disastrous US loss of prestige. He handed over Afghanistan to a bunch of izlamonazi savages affiliated to putlerstan, thus creating greater instability in the region and inflicting misery on millions of girls and women.
If Biden gets a second term, he will be mandated to end the war. He could chose to give Ukraine the victory he has so far denied them, or he could go the other way.
A Trump victory will give him the mandate he craves; to give putler 20% of Ukraine, plus a get out of jail free card for both putler and himself.
Unfortunately at the moment there doesn’t seem to be any hope of the GOP selecting a sensible candidate like Haley or CC.

    • With Afghanistan, President Biden inherited Trump’s surrender agreement, which had been negotiated by Trump’s Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. And he didn’t “hand over” Afghanistan to the Taliban. He pulled our troops out of Afghanistan, leaving the country to the Afghan government, and then the Afghan government folded.

The situation in Ukraine is very different – there are no US soldiers on the ground, and the Ukrainian military is standing strong against the invaders.

“he will be mandated to end the war” – Mandated by who?

“or he could go the other way” – I’m certain that President Biden would never do that.
