He came for a few days — and never left. Irish journalist Caolan Robertson initially planned a short trip to Ukraine after the full-scale invasion began. But he stayed. He quit his job in London and first settled in Odesa.
In this interview, we talk about the first shock of Kyiv — a city that shattered his idea of a “post-Soviet country.” About Kherson, where he was chased by a drone, and the video that was seen around the world. About the stereotypes many in Europe still believe — and about a Ukraine that keeps going, even under constant attacks.
And also — something deeply personal: love, marriage in Kyiv, and the feeling of home he found here.
I did not know that same sex marriage was legal in Ukraine. I am happy for him that he found love there. It’s good that it is legal, because it’s a further differentiation from nazi ruZZia which persecutes gays, even though many of its ruling elite are themselves closet queers. The putinaZi military is full of it. RuZZian mothers tried to keep their sons out because of the long established practice of orc officers pimping out new recruits amongst each other.
I guess they are not so concerned about it now, because they get a new air fryer from putler when their sprogs get smoked.
On Ukraine, I either tend to either agree or more likely strongly agree with pretty much everything that Caolan says.
He’s incredibly articulate, very persuasive and a tremendous advocate for the Ukrainian cause. The ZSU seems to have taken a liking to him too and he has clearly earned their trust.
I’m not surprised that John Sweeney mentored Caolan; it comes through all the time.

Having now watched the complete video, I can double down on my earlier comment.
He is so right to condemn those journalists and news organizations that believe they should be unbiased and represent the positions of the putinaZi murder gang as if they have any moral equivalency whatsoever.
It’s like the BBC in WW2 asking Hitler to explain his “final solution” as if it was something legitimate and debatable.
I’m also impressed with his honesty. He’s making so much money that he doesn’t need to take a gig with one of the big news outlets.
YouTubers with a decent following like him make 100 grand a year. Plus he’s got his $96k/yr from Patreon. Well, good for him.
Unfortunately cuntz like Fucker Karlsonov, CandaZe OwenZ etc are making millions out of their putrid lies.
