France has its own air base in the region, so its aircraft joined in repelling Saturday’s Iranian attack.
France “will do everything to avoid fire and escalation” in the Middle East. French President Emmanuel Macron stated this on the French channel BFMTV , commenting on the participation of French aviation in repelling the Iranian air strike on Israel.
According to him, during the Iranian attack, France was in constant coordination with Israel and Great Britain. Macron also confirmed that the French military took part in intercepting Iranian drones and missiles flying towards Israel.
“Since we are in Jordanian territory at the request of Jordan, we carried out a security and defense interception this Saturday. (…) Jordanian airspace was violated by these launches. We scrambled our aircraft and we intercepted what we were supposed to intercept.” , said Macron.
