The US wants to see a long-term ceasefire in Ukraine and would like the “Easter truce” to be extended for the next few days, the US State Department said in a comment to “Sospilny” .
“We would like to see this continue beyond Sunday, April 20. It is long past time to stop the death and destruction and end this war,” a State Department spokesman said.

The so-called ceasefire must start before it can end and in reality Putin will never start it, like he never started it in the Donbas either.
They must have got the idea from the speech Zelensky made yesterday. No doubt the US will claim the idea as theirs.
