WHEN A FORMER KGB CHIEF SHARES YOUR ARTICLE—AND THE AMERICAN MEDIA IS STILL ASLEEP

Something bizarre just happened. Something that proves independent journalism is doing what the corporate press refuses to do.

A couple of weeks ago, Closer to the Edge published an article https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CKheuemjf/ calling out CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and every other major news outlet for ignoring what should be one of the biggest geopolitical bombshells in modern history:

Alnur Mussayev, former head of Kazakhstan’s intelligence service, claimed that Donald Trump has been a Russian asset since 1987—operating under the KGB codename “Krasnov.”

That’s the kind of story that should set off alarm bells in every newsroom across the country. But instead? Silence.

So we did what the mainstream press wouldn’t—we wrote about it. And then things took a turn we never saw coming.

Here’s what Volodymyr wrote before the article:

“I’m calling it as it is. I don’t care whether you agree with me or not, just check your response with your gut. My gut never lies to me.

I’ve had my suspicions all along about this stooge. He’s not intelligent enough to pull this off by himself. We better hope that all the social security numbers and tax info that Muskrat just uploaded from SSA and IRS from every single American citizen’s account doesn’t end up in Putin’s files. Whoever has that info can potentially wipe out every dime we have and can potentially fund a world takeover.”

Shortly after that, Casey Këddington copied Volodymr’s version, word-for-word, and posted it into a Facebook group called “The United States Academy, for Democracy, Diplomacy, & the Power Of Voting.” Here’s his post: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/167Zn3ad52/

That’s when something incredible happened.

Alnur Mussayev—the very former intelligence chief we wrote about—saw this version, translated the article into Russian, and shared it on his own page.

Yes, the former KGB officer we were writing about read the article and thought it was important enough to share.

Meanwhile, The Daily Beast briefly ran a story on Mussayev’s claims—then deleted it. No correction, no retraction, just wiped from existence. Why?
