Western Tools for Russian Weapons: Database

February 23, 2024 – By OFP

A Spinner U-1530 Advanced 5-axis CNC lathe from Germany, used in russia to manufacture aircraft parts, especially the Sukhoi Su-35.

The free world is helping russia to produce weapons and ammo. This is no joke. It’s not only components that are almost freely available to the russians, thanks to secondary countries, but even machines for direct use in manufacturing processes.

The website War Tools has a comprehensive database of sanctions on individuals, and legal entities, a compare sanction lists with imposed or not imposed by different countries, and a OSINT-tracker of foreign registries and databases for searching assets of sanctioned persons.

Quotes from the website:

“The Unified database of foreign equipment used by aggressors to produce their own weapons.”

“WAR TOOLS” is an open database to help manufacturers and competent authorities around the world collect evidence and investigate supply chains of dual-use and military goods. This should prevent aggressors and other sanctioned regimes from using high-precision foreign equipment to produce their own weapons.”

“South Korean and Japanese-German machines are used by a Russian plant that produces missiles for the S-300 and S-400 systems that Russia regularly fires at Kharkiv. Czech machines are used at the Votkinsk plant in Russia, which produces Iskander-M ballistic missiles and Topol-M intercontinental ballistic missiles.”

“There are many such examples, as most of the weapons used by the aggressors are still produced using industrial equipment of foreign origin, because the aggressors themselves do not have the necessary expertise and logistical support.”

  1. That’s a very helpful database. Let’s hope that it’s put to good use at preventing or tracking down illegal exports.
