Well, this is interesting…

I recently made a video about how the soon-to-be-retired Warthog might be the perfect counter-drone platform. Especially for Ukraine. 🇺🇦

Now, the Aviationist blog is reporting an A-10C Thunderbolt II just returned from deployment under U.S. Central Command wearing two new badges of honor on its nose: Shahed-style drone kill markings.

Alongside other mission tallies and a snarling figure of Ares, the Greek god of war, the artwork tells a story the Air Force hasn’t officially confirmed yet.

If accurate, it means the Warthog, famous for shredding armor with its GAU-8 Avenger cannon, has now been used in a counter-drone role. That would make it one of the first U.S. aircraft to record confirmed kills against Iranian-made one-way attack drones.

  1. I think I’ve mentioned the A-10 once or twice of more, how it would be a great addition in Ukraine’s arsenal. But, Biden was too chicken and Trump is too evil to send any to the beleaguered country.
