Last week, Russia tried to destroy the Kyiv Lavra.
Today, beneath the same golden domes, I received Ukraine’s Order of Merit from President Zelenskyy.
They try to burn history. Ukraine honours truth.
I will never stop reporting it. 🙏🇺🇦🔥
“Thank you that you don’t forget about Ukraine.”
That’s what Zelenskyy said to me today.
I’ll carry that with me forever.
So grateful to be in this beautiful country, telling the truth about its fight for survival, justice and freedom. 🇺🇦❤️

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko just wrapped up talks on Friday at Putin’s Valdai residence in northwestern Russia, and the Kremlin confirmed Ukraine was expected to be the focus.
The two met without press statements or document signings planned. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called it routine discussion of trade, joint projects and “regional security”. This follows weeks of tension. Lukashenko said Thursday he’d met representatives of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and warned them not to try to drag Belarus into war. The Kremlin said Monday that Putin and Lukashenko were expected to discuss Zelenskiy’s remarks “in the foreseeable future”.
Zelenskiy last Friday gave Minsk a week to remove signal relay stations he said were being used to help guide Russian attacks. On Wednesday, Zelenskiy said the relay stations had stopped working, though there was no independent confirmation.
Lukashenko told Zelenskiy’s team: “if he thinks he can talk to us like that — and drag us into a war to boot — then he needs to understand that the nature of the war would change instantly”. He added: “We need to reach a substantive agreement”.
While Belarus hasn’t sent troops, it let Putin use Belarus as a launchpad in Feb 2022 and now hosts Russian tactical nuclear missiles. The Kremlin said it values Trump’s mediation efforts but that the U.S. “understands you can’t mediate in war while supporting one side”.
Russia expects contacts with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to resume when they’re available.
Why people are calling it “secretive”: No public statements were expected, and reports noted the “closed format… only deepens the sense that the most important discussions were not meant for public consumption”.
So far it’s official talks framed as routine, but the timing — after Zelenskiy’s ultimatum on the relay stations and amid U.S. mediation chatter — is fueling speculation about Belarus’s role and potential backchannel talks. 🇧🇾🇷🇺

Obviously, this meeting is about the shortest vampire pressuring the fattest potato to enter the war. If the potato were smart, he will not do so. If he were really smart, he would, on the side of Ukraine.
