Ukraine will continue to intensify strikes on important Russian military facilities that are preparing for war. A striking example was the operation in Novorossiysk on August 12, during which the Defense Forces demonstrated the effectiveness of the simultaneous use of several types of weapons.
This was announced by Acting Minister of Defense Yevgeny Khmara. He emphasized that long-range strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation remain one of Ukraine’s key priorities, and the scale and accuracy of such strikes will continue to grow.
“We will disable the Russian military machine – we will destroy the infrastructure, fleet, logistics, fuel and energy complex facilities and enterprises that are working for the war against Ukraine. Our operation in Novorossiysk has become unique. The combined strike was carried out with missiles, jet drones, and naval drones,” Khmara said.

Defense Forces prepare new phase of deep strike
The Major General added that Russia was unable to effectively counter the simultaneous use of various Ukrainian weapons. According to him, such interaction is the result of the coordinated work of the Defense Forces and their enhanced coordination.
He also called the expansion of deep strike operations across the territory of the Russian Federation one of the key priorities. This direction will be strengthened through joint efforts.

According to Khmara, during today’s meeting chaired by President Volodymyr Zelensky, the parties identified further joint steps, so it is expected that Ukrainian operations will become more difficult to counter, and weapons production will be larger, which will allow for increasingly precise strikes.
“Thank you to the soldiers for their accuracy. Thank you to the Ukrainian weapons manufacturers for the solutions that give Ukraine more opportunities to strike the enemy deep inside… We are working to fulfill the president’s task – to force Russia to a just peace,” Khmara concluded.

As a reminder, on the night of August 12, the Ukrainian army carried out the most effective attack on Novorossiysk, which resulted in the destruction of Russia’s strategic and military infrastructure. Among other things, four enemy warships were hit, two of which were carrying Kalibr cruise missiles on board.

As OBOZ.UA reported, Khmara previously met with US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. Among other things, they discussed the supply and launch of joint production of missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, which are important for protecting Ukrainian skies from enemy attacks.

Factoid: In Ukrainian and related Slavic contexts, Khmara is a common noun meaning a dark storm cloud or a gathering of clouds.
