“We were with you four years ago – and we are with you now”: Stephen King addressed Ukrainians on the anniversary of the Russian invasion.

24.02.2026

American writer Stephen King, who has consistently supported Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, addressed Ukrainians on February 24, the fourth anniversary of the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. He emphasized that his position remains unchanged.

The appeal was published on the Instagram page of the public organization Ukraine WOW. In it, King called on Ukrainians to remain strong.

“Greetings, this is Stephen King. We were with you four years ago – and we are with you now. Glory to Ukraine! Be strong,” he said.

The “King of Horror” made it clear that the Americans are not leaving Ukrainians alone to face the war.

“Steven, thank you for your support,” Ukraine WOW noted.

It’s worth noting that since the start of the full-scale invasion, the writer has repeatedly publicly expressed solidarity with Ukraine. He criticized Russia’s actions and ridiculed the aggressor’s attempts to intimidate Ukrainians.

Back in early 2022, Stephen King refused to continue collaborating with Russian publishers.

Prince Harry also addressed the Ukrainian people on the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, thanking them for their courage and resilience. The Duke of Sussex released a statement emphasizing that the world learns daily from the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

As OBOZ.UA reported, on the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Hollywood stars Ian McKellen and Liev Schreiber demonstrated their support for our people with touching gestures. The celebrities recited poems by Ukrainian defenders, translated into English, once again drawing the world’s attention to the horrific war.

    • Yes, he’s been consistent.
He’s a great writer. He happens to be in the horror genre, but he’s up there with American greats like Poe and Lovecraft.
Ironically, nothing described in his stories has ever come close to the demonic savagery unleashed by putler.
