Again. We Ukrainians want peace more than anyone else. I’ve been hearing explosions for over 1000 days already, my younger daughter lives half of her life in the time of war already. But:
- We do not want just a break before the next war. If we are just left alone, it’s only a question of time when Russia starts again, better prepared. And something needs to hold them. We do not understand what.
- 5 million people are living on occupied territories. They will be tortured and killed for showing any shade of loyalty to Ukraine. The children will be taught to “love Russia” and hate Ukraine. And they may be used against us in the next war. As it was done with the people of Crimea and Donbas after the “peace agreement” in 2014.
We do not see how it is going to be prevented if Russia is not stopped and held by force. That’s why we are not welcoming peace plans not specifying this point. Getting a couple of years of peaceful life before dying is not very tempting, you knowβ¦

You are 100% correct Volodymyr. There will never be peace with Russia unless it is enforced with military strength. Period.
And as per Zelensky’s comment earlier today – any peace deal must ensure Ukraine can justifiably exist as a free, democratic, sovereign nation – ‘Free Ukraine’. If Free Ukraine has to forfeit territory to achieve that, NATO membership for Free Ukraine with Article 5 security guarantees, is an absolute non-negotiable. Putin is totally untrusworthy. The only language he understands is that of force. NATO provides that deterrent force. Ukraine and it’s European allies must accept nothing less.

Kremlin-occupied Ukraine is Now a Totalitarian Hell
“Kiril, a Ukrainian agent in occupied territory reached by phone, says that ‘this is a prison society’ because the fear of being denounced forces everyone to keep their views to themselves. To be without a Russian passport these days is ‘like being a refugee in your own land’. Important jobs are almost all held by Russians. Anyone with pro-Ukrainian views fears being sent ‘to the basement’, an expression for Russiaβs network of detention and ‘filtration’ camps.
All traces of Ukraine are being expunged. Schools have switched to the Russian curriculum, and Russian youth and paramilitary organisations work in the territories. Repression combined with Russification aims to transform the social and political fabric of the territories, says Nikolay Petrov, the author of a new report for the German Institute for International and Security Affairs.
Russia occupies some 18% of Ukraine. In Jan 2022 the Ukrainian authorities estimated that there were 6.4m people in the occupied regions, excluding Crimea. Now, according to Mr Petrov, there are about 3.5m. Even Russiaβs statistical service admits that people continue to flee, with up to 100,000 from the ‘new regions’ doing so last year.”

Last night, I woke up multiple times to the sound of air raid sirens and explosions. My children slept near the exit door, the safest spot in our apartment because of the extra walls providing protection. In the morning, I took them to school and tried to call a taxi. No luck as it all caused huge traffic jams, so I walked on foot. I ended up being 1.5 hours late to work.
Now, Iβve been sitting without power for five hours already. Thereβs no heating either, and itβs cold. Thankfully, we have batteries for such situations, so weβre working regardless β no excuses.
Soon, Iβll need to call a taxi again (if I am lucky), pick up the kids from school, and climb 15 flights of stairs on foot to get back to our apartment. A have another 2 kWh battery there, so we can cook some food and make some tea, not everyone is so lucky as me.
This is likely how the entire winter will go.
And yet, some still wonder why we Ukrainians feel so “toxic” towards Russians.

Three years ago, I was absolutely sure that I was one of the most peaceful and negotiable people on the planetβ¦ π
As it turned out, I was very mistaken, because today I am not ready for reconciliation and forgiveness with everyone.
evil must be punished!!!

For “peacekeepers: Or would you agree to live peacefully next to Deffrey Dahmer, βJack the Ripperβ, Breivik, etc. walking around free π€¨π€?

But a real peace, not one dictated by assholes who only want to restart cozy relationships with the ruskie Nazis.

Interesting that she references Breivik; the Nazi wanker has had a Z tattoo made for him.
Those are good analogies. That’s exactly who mafia land can be compared to.
