Polish expert, journalist Marek Sierant noted that if Poland closes the sky over western Ukraine, it will make it possible to move Ukrainian air defense to the center of the country.

He said this on the air of the “Espresso” TV channel.

“The Polish government is quite determined on this issue, and so is the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radosław Sikorski. The votes of the military are divided in different ways, about 50/50. As for the NATO partners, not everyone is happy about it. But we need to press because without Ukraine will not be safe after this, and NATO and the European Union will not be safe,” Sierant stressed.

According to the Polish expert, if Poland closes the sky over western Ukraine, it will allow Ukrainians to move Ukrainian air defense from near Lviv or Lutsk to the center of the country.

“Including, Kharkiv will be able to be defended. If this is not done, then we are helping what is happening in Kharkiv and other cities of Ukraine,” added Sierant.

Closing the sky over Ukraine: what is known

Earlier, the spokesman of the Air Force Command, Ilya Yevlash, said that Poland has Patriot systems, so it could technically close the sky over the western regions of Ukraine.

Also, member of the Bundestag from the Christian Democratic Union, Roderich Kiesewetter, said that the partner countries should provide air defense over the western regions of Ukraine.

BILD wrote that some NATO countries are ready to extend support to Kyiv and act directly on the territory of Ukraine – the possibility of covering the sky with air defense systems in the west of Ukraine is being discussed.

On May 28, Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov, while addressing the participants of the session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, called on neighboring countries to close the sky over the western regions of Ukraine.

As usual, there are those who see what the problem is and know what to do about it. And, also as usual, you have those who still exist in a pink bubble. Those in the pink bubble might one day get a very rude awakening … when their children, like Ukrainian ones, must dog trenches, and when their cities get the same treatment as Ukrainian ones are now. Just because they refused to leave their cozy pink bubbles when there still was time to do so.
