British Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss told a NATO panel that the current talks with Vladimir Putin will not lead to peace.

Sky News writes about it .

“It is absolutely necessary that we ensure the defeat of Russia in Ukraine. And this is necessary for the sake of European security, freedom and democracy, and this is the only way we are going to achieve lasting peace in Europe,” Liz Truss said.

Truss hinted that some countries are in favor of negotiations with Russia now, without waiting for the withdrawal of troops from the territory of Ukraine.

“I think it will bring a false peace and lead to further aggression in the future,” the minister said.

Truss recalled the sad fate of the Minsk agreements, calling on the world community to “learn lessons from the past.”

“Therefore, my very strong message is that we must first defeat Russia, and then negotiate,” Truss said.
