“We heard explosions, and on the sixth floor we realized that our house was damaged”: residents of an Odessa suburb are recovering from a massive attack

Residents of the Odessa suburbs are recovering from a massive drone attack ; they are working with public utilities to eliminate the consequences.

About twenty houses were damaged, and fires broke out at eight sites, a Dumskaya correspondent reports.

As local resident Rasul said, they first heard explosions, on the sixth day they realized that the windows in the house had been broken, and then a fire started. They began to extinguish the fire themselves before the rescuers arrived.

The house of Svetlana, who fled the war from Novaya Kakhovka, was also damaged. She left the occupation after a mine landed in the yard. And now the house where the woman lived was damaged again. Svetlana was not injured because she managed to hide in the basement.

The blast wave damaged a Nova Poshta office, a private laboratory, and a food workshop where semi-finished products were made. All supplies were destroyed by fire. A pet store was also on fire, and other stores and cafes near the epicenter of the explosion were damaged.

Rescuers extinguished fires at eight addresses. The work was complicated by the fact that there were many fires and they were large-scale. It was also important to quickly connect to hydrants for an uninterrupted water supply. At one location, the fire was extinguished already in the morning, said Marina Averina, press secretary of the State Emergency Service.
