He stressed that the United States “will protect people.”

American leader Donald Trump has effectively declared that “the United States is fully prepared for a nuclear war with Russia,” Clash Report writes .
Journalists asked him questions on the South Lawn of the White House, and in particular asked about a post in which he wrote that he had ordered two “nuclear” submarines to be deployed.
“Well, we had to do it. We just have to be careful. There was a threat made, and we thought it was inappropriate. So I have to be careful. And I’m doing it for the safety of our people. There was a threat made by the former president of Russia,” Trump said.
He stressed that the US “will protect people”:
“Medvedev spoke about nuclear weapons, if we are talking about nuclear weapons, we must be ready [for it]. We are completely ready.”
Conflict between Trump and Medvedev
Trump and Medvedev had a falling out on social media after the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council hinted at the possible transfer of nuclear weapons to Iran and criticized the US ultimatum to end the Russian-Ukrainian war. In response, the American leader suggested that Medvedev “watch his words.”
Trump later ordered two nuclear submarines “to the appropriate regions” over Medvedev’s comments, saying he gave the order in case Medvedev’s “reckless and inflammatory remarks” “turn out to be more than just words.”

This is just theatre. I have no doubt that NATO has nuclear capable subs in the Baltic on a permanent basis, but it is nice to see the threat of nukes returned to mafia land.
There is no such thing as being fully prepared for a nuclear war.
