Explosions were heard in Dagestan, Russia, on Friday, May 15. The Ukrainian Defense Forces reportedly destroyed at least one enemy warship in the city of Kaspiysk.
Several dozen Russian servicemen were injured in the attack, according to the Exilenova+ Telegram channel.
What is known about the attack?
At around 9 a.m., Exilenova+ wrote about the possible destruction of a Russian warship in the city of Kaspiysk (Dagestan).
“A lot of s**t – “300” (wounded – Ed.). The ambulances are going back and forth non-stop,” they stated then in the Telegram channel.

Later, Exilenova+ revealed more information: dozens of occupiers may have been injured. And the losses on the ships may be greater than initially thought.
“In Kaspiysk, the Defense Forces blew something up very nicely, they write that more than 30 Russian “300”, the explosions were heard for several hours. Probably, a ship/ships were hit,” the message says.

Exilenova+ also showed footage from Kaspiysk taken by eyewitnesses.
The city of Kaspiysk in Dagestan is located over 1,000 km from Ukraine. It is home to a port that serves as an important base for the Russian Caspian Flotilla and various military units of the Russian Armed Forces.
Because of this, Kaspiysk has encountered Ukrainian drones on several occasions in the past. For example, attacks were recorded on November 6 and 30, 2024, as well as on December 1, 2025, when the target of the strike was a naval base in the city.
As OBOZ.UA reported, on May 7, the General Staff announced that the second Caliber carrier in a week had been hit in Dagestan. It was a small russian missile ship of the Karakurt project.
The vessel was based in Kaspiysk, and the extent of its damage was still being determined at the time of the report.
