Warhead of Iskander-K missile found in Kyiv, warn of planned explosion

In one of the districts of the capital, law enforcement officers found a fragment of a russian missile that did not detonate during the last air attack and urged residents to remain calm due to possible sounds of explosions. This was reported by the Kyiv police.

“In the Desnianskyi district, the warhead of an enemy missile will soon be blown up,” the department noted, adding that explosives technicians are already preparing for the controlled destruction of the ammunition.

Currently, the territory where the Iskander part was found is under increased police protection, and access for unauthorized persons is completely restricted. An investigative and operational group and specialized specialists are working at the scene of the incident, ensuring safety during the work.

Law enforcement officers emphasize that the planned destruction of the ammunition is a necessary measure, and ask Kyiv residents not to panic.

“This is planned work and there is no threat to the population,” the police assured.

Photo evidence of the found missile fragment was also published to once again remind citizens of the danger of suspicious objects.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of April 15, russian troops launched a combined strike on Ukraine, using ballistic missiles and hundreds of strike drones. Air defense forces managed to destroy most of the air targets.
