The general said what would be included in the aid package.

The Pentagon will be able to quickly send Ukraine a package of military assistance if the decision to provide support is adopted by the House of Representatives and the Senate.

This was stated today by the representative of the Department of Defense of the United States of America, Major General Pat Ryder, reports Ukrainian journalist Ostap Yarish in the microblog X (formerly Twitter).

“As soon as aid to Ukraine is approved in the House of Representatives and the Senate, the Pentagon is preparing to quickly send a package of weapons to Kyiv, which, among other things, will include air defense and artillery capabilities,” Ryder said.

  1. Hmm, “quickly”? I hope this means they already did prepare urgent delivery packages, containing Patriot missiles, and have C-5 Galaxy transports ready to start in the minute after Biden signs the bill. But with Pentagon bureaucracy involved, you can never be sure. 🤔

      • That’s what I fear, Veth. After pedantically dotting all is and crossing all ts on the contracts first, of course. A mere 12 months later, the first missile will be ready for shipping. 😖

    • That would have been a smart move, to move those supplies to US bases in Europe, so they only need to be transported to Ukraine, once the bill is signed. But did the Pentagon do the reasonable thing? Let’s wait and see. 🤔
