On the night of July 19-20, a rematch between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk and Briton Daniel Dubois took place at Wembley Stadium in the capital of Great Britain, London. All belts were at stake, including the title of absolute heavyweight champion.

Daniel Dubois entered the ring weighing 110.45 kg – 5 kilograms more than before. Oleksandr Usyk weighs 103 kg (in the first fight he weighed 100.2 kg).

Even before this fight began, it was known that if Usyk won, he would become the first boxer in history to win the title of absolute heavyweight champion twice – during the era of four belts (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO).Video of the day

Round 1. Both boxers started to act actively, not getting lost in defense from the first round.

Many experts said that Dubois would rush forward from the first seconds. But so far both athletes are acting the same, aiming and trying to land the first serious blows. Usyk landed two serious left blows, the first round was over.

Round 2. All the same activity from both boxers. The first seconds, the first minutes, there is no particular risk in them. However, many may be scared by the fact that Dubois occupies the center of the ring, while the Ukrainian is forced to actively work his feet and constantly move so as not to be trapped.

The second round is definitely for the Ukrainian.

Round 3. Active footwork continues from the Ukrainian boxer. The first minute went without any serious blows, but then Usyk continued to “punish” the Briton and, in turn, dodge his blows.

Exchange of blows. End of round.

Round 4. Every round, you can talk about the same thing – how great Usyk’s footwork is. He makes Dubois run after him and at the same time throw punches at his opponent. There’s a minute left.

Usyk was in the corner for a couple of seconds. Dubois thought he could do something to the Ukrainian, but he cleverly escaped the ambush. Most likely, most of the last four rounds “went” to Usyk.

Round 5. Dubois was knocked down and ended up knocked out. Victory for the Ukrainian!

  1. I just watched this from Ukraine Today western bunker and I was expecting 12 rounds of chaos but Usyk dominated Dubois from the start. If anyone gets a chance, check out the clips. Even with a British opponent there were several chants of “Usyk!” in Wembly.
    Slava Ukraini~~!!
