The US wants to control gas transit through Ukraine, and also wants to buy out the Europeans’ part of Nord Stream and restore it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with RT India.
Thus, Lavrov stated that the Trump administration itself, and not within the framework of Biden’s legacy, seeks to “punish” Russia economically.
He accused the US of “making no secret of its desire to control gas transit through Ukraine.”
He also said that the US plans to buy the Nord Stream gas pipelines from the Europeans for next to nothing in order to restore them and “dictate their own gas prices.” He also accused the US of trying to establish control over Venezuela’s previous oil cooperation with Rosneft.
Lavrov also reported that currently “no joint projects between Russia and the US are being implemented, despite the right words.”
