Sen. Risch believes Russia has displayed total ‘ineptness’ in Ukraine
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., echoed Risch’s sentiment that the conflict will not escalate to the most dire situation.
“Well it’s not going to be World War III – this is all a bluff,” Graham said during an appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures.” “Putin knows that no one wins a nuclear exchange. If he ordered a strike on the United States, a general would shoot him in the head.”

But Risch worried that the Biden administration projects “weakness” and would continue to do so as the conflict continues.
“The administration has projected weakness throughout this,” Risch argued. “Remember everything we’ve tried to do? They said no, and then eventually they say yes, and that started with sanctions.”
“It started with giving them stinger missiles: They said no, then when our allies stepped up and gave stingers then they said ok, the same thing with the javelin, anti-tank weapons … They’re just dragging their feet.”
The logistical and tactical issues Russia has faced have boosted confidence among lawmakers that the U.S. would make swift work of Russia in a conflict.

Evidence indicates that Putin expected the campaign to remain brief: An article accidentally published by state-aligned media outlet RIA was meant to publish 4 days after the invasion began and declare victory, and plans supposedly found on a captured Russian official outlined a 15-day war campaign to take the whole country.
Russia still has yet to take several major cities, including Kyiv, after 18 days.

I agree; there will be no WWIII, either with boots on the ground or a NFZ and we would eat the mafia army in short order.
The core of the problem for us and for Ukraine – besides the criminal rat in the Kremlin – is a single, old, weak, fragile, spineless coward who is afraid of his own shadow and forgets what month it is … is running our country.
Why couldn’t one of these Senators be POTUS instead?
IMO Russia, Syria, Lebanon, Belarus and maybe China vs little Ukraine is already WWIII. If the suicide belt bombers from Chechniya holding a nuclear power plant in the center of Ukraine go to Allah and pick up their 72 virgins the world will already think its WWIII.
Ukraine is already dominating against russia, so unless putin gets desperate and increases the ante with nuclear or biological weapons, then it will probably remain a regional war. I don’t dismiss the possibility that russia gets help from china though, and others like iran, or even more unlikely, india. Because of that, I feel that the United States should have already gotten involved more by sending in a supportive force of troops, and more larger deliveries of advanced weapons or equipment.
That said, for the United States to get serious, I think it’s probably going to take china or other hostile nations backing russia more directly. As an American, I’m very frustrated to admit this, and it’s only one of many reasons I hate biden as much as I putin.
We should get involved anyway. This war will not end in Ukraine. Biden and Nato are foolish. They should send all they can to Denmark and Norway. Should Putler attack the Baltic States we could respond quickly. If we have to wait for the lazy asses to arrive from the other side of the Atlantic once the Baltic States are being attacked, they will fall in no time.
The best way to defend the Baltics, is to go after Putin in and around Ukraine. Enough troops with field fortifications could stop Putin, and hold him while the battle for Ukraine is finished. then, kill what is sent against the Baltics and Poland. Take the Kaliningrad Exclave and give it to Poland and Lithuania.
Now that NATO can see what a paper tiger Putin is, this is…imo…a time to take him out on the battlefield. Yeah he’s crazy enough to use the bomb because he already used the bomb on his own people 16 days ago but Putin’s been all show no go so far. Hell, he’d probably hit St. Petersfurg by accident instead…or perhaps THAT is what would trigger Red Square Maidan.
Yes, and Biden and the rest of the marshmallows are still twiddling their thumbs while watching Ukraine fighting THEIR fight.
