Vice President J.D. Vance cast the deciding vote. It was the second time in U.S. history that a vice president cast his vote.
The U.S. Senate has confirmed Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense. The decision was made by a narrow margin, thanks to the deciding vote of Vice President J.D. Vance, on Friday evening, January 24, The Washington Post reports .
It is noted that the vote ended with a 50-50 result. Three Republicans joined the Democrats and spoke out against Hegseth’s candidacy. However, the decisive vote was that of Vice President J.D. Vance.
“It’s the second time in US history that the vice president’s vote is needed to confirm a Cabinet official, and Republicans applauded when Vance entered the chamber,” WP writes.

I read Hagseth’s biography on Wikipedia. I was not taking sides on him as I heard he was a graduate of Princeton and Harvard and supposedly served with the SEALS. Well what I learned is that he’s an alcoholic, a checkered career in the National Guard and can’t seem to keep his dick in his pants. In 2020, as a reserve National Guardsman, he volunteered to be part of the security team for the 2020 inauguration. He was asked to withdraw, assumingely for security reasons. This guy definitely thinks with his dick ad he was married from 2005-2009 (second marriage) divorced in 2009 as he had five affairs in that period. Geez this guy is a piece of work and I don’t understand how he gets any employment anywhere. I attached the link to the Wikipedia page.
