Iran argues that the stockpiles accumulated over the past four years should remain in the country.
The United States has offered Iran the option of transferring its enriched uranium stockpile to other countries, such as Russia, an offer Iran is expected to reject.
According to The Guardian , such a call from Washington is part of the American policy aimed at curtailing Tehran’s nuclear program. The States seeks to prevent this country from creating nuclear weapons.

It is noted that indirect talks between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff took place on April 12. And the issue of Iran’s enriched uranium reserves is one of the main obstacles to a future nuclear agreement between Washington and Tehran.
Iran says the stockpiles it has built up over the past four years should remain in the country, under strict supervision by the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency, which sees them as a safeguard or a form of insurance in case a future US administration pulls out of the nuclear deal again, as happened during Trump’s first term.
So Tehran says that if the stocks are removed from Iran and the US withdraws from the deal again, the country will have to start from scratch enriching uranium to a higher level of purity.
